Everything you need to know about Kifaru Liquid Rubber, our application process, pricing and warranty.
What is Kifaru Liquid Rubber made of?
Kifaru Liquid Rubber is a water-based, cold-applied elastomeric coating engineered for waterproofing, corrosion control and chemical protection. It's non-toxic, VOC-free and safe for use on potable water tanks.
How is this different from bitumen or torch-on membranes?
Unlike bitumen sheets, our system is applied as a seamless liquid membrane with no joints for water to penetrate, requires no open flame, and remains flexible (up to 400% elongation) instead of cracking as it ages.
Do you need to remove the existing roof covering?
Usually not. The membrane bonds directly to most existing surfaces — metal, RCC, asbestos cement, GI sheet, foam and more — without a primer, saving significant time and disposal cost.
How long does application take?
A typical residential roof or bathroom is completed in 1–3 days including cure time between coats. Larger industrial roofs are scoped individually during the site survey.
Does the coating need special equipment?
No. It's applied by brush, roller or spray with no specialist tools, torches or blending — one of the reasons application is faster and more consistent than traditional systems.
Is the site survey really free?
Yes. We inspect the surface, take measurements and identify problem areas before quoting — so pricing reflects your actual project, not a generic rate.
What warranty comes with the application?
Every project includes a written workmanship warranty, in addition to the manufacturer's material warranty. Terms depend on the surface type and are confirmed in your quote.
Do you offer maintenance or re-coating plans?
Yes — for commercial and industrial clients we offer scheduled inspection and top-coat plans to extend membrane life well beyond the initial application.
How long does the membrane last?
Properly applied, the membrane is designed to perform for 15+ years, with UV stability and puncture resistance that significantly outlast conventional coatings.
Can it be recoated in future without stripping the old layer?
Yes. The system is top-coat compatible, so future maintenance coats bond directly to the existing membrane without removal.
Is it safe for water tanks people drink from?
Yes. The formulation used for tank lining is non-toxic and tested safe for potable water storage.
What should I do if I notice a leak after installation?
Contact us immediately — issues within the warranty period are inspected and resolved at no cost as part of our workmanship guarantee.
